I found it interesting to read that....
While reading about the "first people" and how we have migrated from one place to another, it was remarkable to read and see (pictures) how we expanded. While looking at the "Map of Time" it was interesting to see how everything happened and the time frames it took place. From the reading I can see that we migrated out of Africa and into the Middle East and then westward into Europe, making our way in the Americas.
What I appreciated from the chapter was that every subheading had stated the Migration time period, as well as the population, and the languages learned / spoken. For instance, when we read about "Into Australia" we see that the Migration started 60,000 years ago from Indonesia (which was also the first use of boats) and that the Population by 1788 was 300,000.
I also liked learning how people were back in the days, for instance, when we read about how our population was growing very slowly and then overtime became huge in numbers. It states in the chapter that the world population grew slowly, starting at 500,00 by 30,000 years ago and then 6 million by 10,000 years ago. I liked learning how men and women back then were freer even though they were limited to how far they could go. I also liked that men and women back than were seen equal to each other and that one gender didn't have an upper hand over the other.
It was interesting to see how the Economy and Environment was run and what was even more shocking was the life expectancy being average 35! It was amazing to read and learn the beginning stages of history and also see the amazing pictures portrayed in them.
