Religion and Historians
Religion has always been a topic that has been very controversial and has always had its disagreements and agreements. Historians believed "the religious aspect of human life changes as much as any other" (Strayer 180).
Hinduism went from a religion of rituals and sacrifice to devotion and worship.
Buddhism became a more conventional religion with an emphasis on the supernatural but eventually evolved from Theravada to Mahayana forms.
Christian churches went from small house churches that suffered persecution to Mega churches with bishops and priests.
Historians have debates on which religion is the "real" version of faith. They have refuse to side with one but notice that "most human cultural traditions generate conflicting views, some of which become the basis for serious conflict in societies" ( Strayer 181).
With all that being said we can still sit back and be amazed at what History has brought to the table. We see how cultures were made and how religions were founded. We see that each religion brought something to the people of those times. It continues to be a widely controversial issue and something that people will fight to the death about. Religion has become a huge part of todays world and in the past world.
